The International Journal of Medical Case Reports (IJOMCR), ISSN 2455-0574, is an open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed medical journal, accepted by Elsevier for EMBASE coverage with effect from 1 July 2026 and currently undergoing content activation.

The journal publishes original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, case series, and case reports across the clinical and non-clinical medical sciences, including anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, forensic medicine, microbiology, pathology, pharmacology, general medicine, pediatrics, surgery and its specialties, orthopedics, psychiatry, radiology, dermatology, anesthesiology, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, and preventive and social medicine.

Elsevier updates the public EMBASE Source List bi-annually (January and July). IJOMCR is currently awaiting inclusion in a forthcoming public EMBASE Source List following completion of Elsevier's content activation process.

Original research articles and case series published in IJOMCR are intended to fall within the article types recognised under the current National Medical Commission (NMC) publication criteria for faculty promotion in Indian medical institutions once the journal's EMBASE coverage becomes publicly verifiable through the EMBASE Source List. Authors are advised to consider their institutional requirements before submission.

All published articles are made available immediately and permanently on the journal website at https://www.ijomcr.net from the date of publication. The journal and its editorial board are committed to providing immediate, full, and unconditional open access to all published work for everyone to read, download, and share.

IJOMCR is published quarterly, in January, April, July, and October. The journal's emphasis is on the scholarly quality and methodological soundness of the work it publishes rather than on the number of papers. The evaluation and publication processes of IJOMCR conform to the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and to the publication ethics standards of COPE.
