Article Processing Fees
The International Journal of Medical Case Reports (IJOMCR), ISSN 2455-0574, has been accepted for indexing in EMBASE (Elsevier), effective 1 July 2026. Elsevier updates its publicly searchable EMBASE source list twice a year; IJOMCR's public listing is expected in the next update cycle (anticipated January 2027). Coverage is effective from the date stated above per Elsevier's written confirmation.
IJOMCR is an open-access journal. To cover the costs of peer-review administration, editorial processing, typesetting, hosting, archiving, and indexing, an Article Processing Charge (APC) is applicable only after a manuscript has been accepted for publication following peer review.
There are no submission fees and no peer-review fees. Authors pay nothing at the time of submission or during the evaluation of their manuscript. The APC becomes payable only upon acceptance.

The APC is independent of the outcome of peer review — manuscripts are accepted or rejected solely on scholarly merit, and payment is requested only after the editorial decision has been made.
Important note for authors seeking NMC promotion eligibility:
As per the National Medical Commission (NMC) gazette notification dated 30 June 2025, the article types considered for faculty promotion are original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and case series published in journals indexed in approved databases, including EMBASE. Case reports are not eligible for promotion purposes, irrespective of indexing status. Authors are advised to choose their article type accordingly and to independently verify current NMC criteria before submission.
Payment instructions are provided to corresponding authors along with the acceptance letter. Published articles are made immediately and permanently available in full text on the journal website under open access.
