IJOMCR has been accepted for indexing in EMBASE (Elsevier), effective from July 1, 2026. Please note that Elsevier updates its publicly searchable EMBASE source list periodically, typically during the 2nd or 3rd week of the month. As a result, IJOMCR may not yet appear on the live EMBASE source list at the time of this notice, even though indexing coverage is effective from the date stated above. Authors and readers are encouraged to check the official EMBASE source list directly for the most current listing status, and this page will be updated once the listing is publicly reflected.
The journal is indexed in EMBASE, which is included among the indexing databases recognized under the National Medical Commission (NMC) Teachers' Eligibility Qualifications Regulations, India. However, as per applicable NMC criteria, case reports are not considered eligible publications for the purpose of academic promotion, irrespective of the indexing status of the journal in which they appear. Authors seeking publications for promotional or academic eligibility purposes should therefore submit case series or original research articles — not case reports — and should independently verify current NMC criteria before submission.
The journal does not claim conformity with the criteria of any other statutory, regulatory, or licensing body, including similar authorities in GCC countries, such as (as applicable): Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), Saudi Arabia; Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) and Dubai Health Authority (DHA), UAE; Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP), Ministry of Public Health, Qatar; Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB), Oman; National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA), Bahrain; and Kuwait Institute for Medical Specializations (KIMS), Kuwait.
The purpose of the journal is dissemination of knowledge. For the initial years, the journal did not charge any Article Processing Charges (APC). However, to ensure sustainability of journal operations, an APC / publication charge is applicable for manuscripts accepted on or after 20 September 2025 (please refer to the Article Processing Fees page for current charges and details). Authors are requested to consider these facts prior to submission.
The journal continues to work toward indexing in additional services such as DOAJ and SCOPUS; however, at present, the journal is not indexed in these services.
Authors are expected to exercise due diligence when selecting a journal for submission, particularly where institutional or regulatory requirements apply. Authors seeking publications for promotion should consult current NMC criteria and submit case series or original research articles to journals that meet applicable NMC requirements.
Research integrity and responsible use of AI: The journal expects authors to uphold research integrity and submit original scholarly work. At present, AI-text detection tools are not foolproof, and no method can determine with complete certainty in every case whether text was generated by AI. Accordingly, the journal presumes authors will not use AI tools to generate the core manuscript text or scientific content. However, authors may use AI responsibly for supportive functions such as language editing, grammar correction, formatting, and readability improvements, provided that the clinical content, interpretation, conclusions, and accountability remain entirely the authors' own.
The journal does not solicit submissions from authors. All submissions are voluntary. Authors are advised to verify the journal's indexing status and suitability for their intended purpose prior to submission. Requests for withdrawal or retraction solely on the basis of indexing expectations may create avoidable administrative burdens. Authors are therefore requested to consider these aspects carefully before submitting manuscripts.
